WHO?

Assistant Professor Adam Cuker, University of Pennsylvania, USA

ADAM CUKER is Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his M.D. from Yale University and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He continued his postgraduate training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a fellow in hematology/oncology.

He holds a Masters degree in Translational Research from the University of Pennsylvania. He is Director of the Penn Comprehensive Hemophilia & Thrombosis Program, Assistant Director of the Penn Specialized Coagulation Laboratory, and Associate Director of the Penn-CHOP Blood Center for Patient Care and Discovery. He conducts NIH-funded patient-oriented research on heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, venous thromboembolism, and anticoagulation. He is Chair of the forthcoming American Society of Hematology guidelines on venous thromboembolism.

Anticoagulation is encountered in nearly all disciplines of medicine. The challenging multidisciplinary consultations relate to simultaneous high risk of thrombosis and bleeds, including surgery and trauma. Meet the expert to learn and discuss further on anticoagulation challenges and solutions.

To avoid traveling we offer you an excellent educational opportunity just next to your computer. You can prepare yourself for the talk and pose questions a week ahead the event in advance. Your questions will be grouped and selected by the speaker and the organising committee, to meet the needs as much as possible. A chat board will be also provided during the presentation and discussion.
